Ori has over a decade of experience in mid-infrared fibre laser development and co-invented the dual-wavelength pumping technique to enhance their efficiency. After completing his PhD at The University of Adelaide, he worked at Ellex Medical as an Optics and Laser Engineer. He then, joined the Institute for Photonics and Advanced Sensing (IPAS) in 2017, where he advanced cryogenic sapphire oscillators. At the same time he co-founded Mirage-Photonics to commercialise mid-IR laser technology. Since 2020, his research has explored near-IR and mid-IR fibre lasers. At OzGrav, he develops monolithic mid-IR fibre lasers for LIGO’s thermal compensation system.
