Dr Tianwei Sun completed his PhD in Geophysics at the University of Science and Technology of China in July 2025. His research focuses on high-resolution imaging of the Earth’s structure using dense seismic arrays, including Distributed Acoustic Sensing (DAS). As a member of USTC’s DAS group, he contributed to the early development and testing of DAS demodulation algorithms.

Tianwei joined the Australian National University as a Postdoctoral Researcher with Professor Meghan Miller, working within COMBS’ Precision Sensing & Measurement theme. His current work is using DAS technology to study near-surface structures and support hazard assessment, and he hopes to contribute to the development frequency-comb-based DAS systems.
