Aruna is a PhD Student at RMIT University. Her is research investigates Equity, Diversity and Inclusion in STEM at COMBS.

Aruna Ranga is a culturally and linguistically diverse professional with extensive experience of working with perpetrators of family violence in Victoria, with expertise in Multi-Agency Risk Assessment and Management (MARAM) Framework.

In addition to being an educator, teaching higher education cohorts, Aruna also facilitates capacity building workshops for the wider community services sector – professionals working with Adults Using Family Violence (AUFV) in Victoria as well as other states in Australia.

As a lecturer, Aruna teaches core units on Family Violence, FV Legislation in Australian Context, MARAM Framework, CISS & FVISS Information Sharing Guidelines, Risk Assessment, Risk Management, Safety Planning, Child Wellbeing, Child Safety and Assessment, Best Interests Case Practice Model, Gender Diversity, Intersectionality, and Gendered nature of family violence in Australian context.

Aruna’s role as MARAM Practice Lead with the peak body in community services sector- No to Violence (NTV) requires organising and facilitating capacity building and upskilling workshops across the wider community services sector in Victoria alongside other peaks in the sector i.e. Safe and Equal (SaE), Sexual Assault Centre VIC(SASVIC), Centre for Excellence in Child and Family Welfare (CFECFW). The MARAM Practice Leadership positions are funded by Victoria Government thus the role requires regular liaising with Family Safety Victoria (DFFH), department overseeing the community services roles, trainings, and capacity building at state and Federal level in Australia.
