Emi Hughes is a PhD Student at the University of Adelaide.

Her research uses advanced techniques to improve how light is delivered and collected for optical imaging in deep tissue visualisations. This involves using carefully chosen wavelengths of light to penetrate deeper into tissues, along with special dyes and a highly sensitive photodetector.

Emi’s project with Professor Kishan Dholakia aims to answer pressing biological questions in fields such as neuroscience and embryology.
